Endless Land

He looked into the Pacific and the Pacific looked back into him
- The Life by Malcolm Knox

S'up water babies, listless drifters, land lovers and everyone else in between!

I've averted blog writing duties for numerous reasons the most telling being a nice dose of reverse culture shock - I don't get it how can hot showers and flushing toilets suddenly seem overwhelming?!
In Ethiopia I had purpose, responsibility, a nice little wage and constant excitement. Naturally coming back home to living in the attic room of my parents house, no job and no clear ideas is going to seem a little like second best!!

This time round I've had the lovely Antonio to return to whose been nothing but supportive and has been keeping me (relatively) sane. Its a hard job as I've been something of a space cadet now that I no longer have my African security blanket. His endless patience and our late night chats are nectar to a restless soul so thanks Ant!

The hazards of drawn on moustaches....

Much like waiting for a set to roll in lifes at a stage where there is lots of potential- I've just got to be patient. I am however proud to present an exclusive first sample of a 'Real Women have curves and surfboard' T-shirt. There'll be t-shirts, hoodies, mugs and bags on the way we're just working out the details. I've various designs so watch this space for the launch of the online shop. Once I've overcome the tiny, insignificant detail of not being able to drive I'll also be tootling off to numerous surf related festivals to flog my wares so if you see a RWCS stall come and say hi!

Me and the prototype in a very orange attic room!

I'll be working with the Prince's Trust which help young entrepenurs in the UK. My mentor Richard is probably the nicest man in the world and will be helping me through writing business plans and doing the number crunching bit (errrgh).

Today I've rambled my way through a telephone interview for a job I really, really want. In fact its the first job I've applied for where I've had to stop myself from jumping up in excitement. As an outreach manager I'd be working to encourage more youths to embark on volunteering, something I feel passionate about as youths aren't the future they are the now. The exceptionally awesome part of this job is that it will involve travel.
To South Africa.
Cape Town.
Surfing

You see where I'm going with this. Hmmmm. I'm sure great white shark dodging is an excellent way to progress from being a kook to an actual surfer. Please, please, please, please universe!

So life's pretty darn good at the moment, despite the logistics of my life - I'm poor, in love and working hard...What more do you need!?

WAVES!

Peace + Love + Surfboards
